So what do you think? Let’s get your opinion…..

Do you think Facebook will continue to grow?
Do you agree with employers looking at your profile?
Do you miss AOL/Yahoo instant messenger?
What things about Facebook would like to see leave?
What things about Facebook would you like to see stay and improve?
In your opinion is Facebook going in the right direction?
Do you feel that you have Facebook stalkers?
Would you rather talking on the phone, or talk on Facebook?
Do you miss having a photo album on the coffee table?
How often do you advertise on Facebook?
How much time of day does Facebook consume you time?
Are your parents on Facebook?
Do you get a lot of older people requesting to be your friend?
Is your page clean? (Meaning would you let your parents look at it)

Hey! How do you know so much about me?...I saw your profile on Facebook!

I have a friend that says she hates when guys send messages on Facebook, and ask her questions about her profile.. She says it freaks her out because she does not like the fact that these people who want to date her know so much about her, when she knows nothing about them. Or she also says it freaks her out when she will be out on campus, and a complete stranger will tell her congrats, and for a minute she does not know why they are telling her that, but she realizes they looked on her Facebook status prior to seeing her and they know that has posted something. I totally agree with her, because being a guy I don’t get that as often as females would but I’m sure it would awful and kind of scary. This whole social network thing can get out of hand sometimes, and I hope it doesn’t go for the worst. I’m sure it has in some cases! I just feel sorry for my friend; I hope this does not ruin her thoughts about using Facebook, or any other social networks.

Is Facebook your new job interview?

A LOT of employers are starting to use Facebook as a way to meet their future employees. It amazing how someone can judge you based solely on your profile on a social network. I have mixed feeling about that, because I feel like a social network should be a place that you can go, and have fun, and not have to worry about someone checking you out. But on the other hand I like it because it can kind of give you a preview about people that could possibly be working for you. This same technique could also be used when it comes to preview a guy/girl you are thinking about dating, so you can know if you want to avoid him or her. But that's a whole other kind of blog, Lol!

Facebook: The new form of advertisement…

There is a new thing called “The Facebook Marketplace.” That’s were people can advertise, buy, or sell things. I have even used this feature myself when I wanted to sell my student football tickets, and it is very useful, and it works! Also there are also other forms of advertisement. People are using their status to get you to come to their event, or their function. Maybe this is a good thing because you can save trees this way! When people are using the marketplace, I see that people are using this more to sell like I did, their football tickets, I have even seen someone sell their car on here…I don’t know if it worked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did work. Facebook has taken over and it is very interested how much information people put out their just to make money or just advertise. I guess it can be addictive because people actually continue to do it. I’m a good example because when I used it, it worked very well! And I made lots of money! ;) I think in the future instead of having to use paper, or any other form of advertisement people will use this because it seems to be more accessible than other things.

Do you people still have actual photo albums anymore?

***Sorry guys this one may be a tad short, b/c you this one is kind of simple***
One thing Facebook has added to their repertoire is the ability to add pictures to your Facebook page. I think this is a neat way to save money on having to buy photo albums, and getting pictured developed. This way you kind of have a “back up” so to speak for your pictures, even if you already have them saved on your computer. This way if your computer crashes you will still be upset, but not as mad because you will still have pictures.
A good thing about this feature is that you can make it so that everyone who looks at your Facebook page, can’t all have access to your pictures. If you don’t want a certain person looking at them, you can block them. The best way to probably use this would be if you don’t want your employer seeing you doing crazy things on Facebook.

Facebook Chat: The new instant messenger…

I’m not going to even lie, I LOVE FACEBOOK CHAT!!! I think it was one of the best things created! (Just thought I would throw that in there) But anyway is Facebook chat the new instant messenger? What happen to AOL, or Yahoo? People are not using AOL or Yahoo anymore because Facebook chat as so much more to offer in terms of being able to be on a social network, and chatting at the same time. When I have talked to people I know who use it, one of the main reasons they like it so much is because they don’t have to download any software from a website, the chat just with the web browser. I think that’s the best feature. Another good thing about using the chat is you can set it so that people can’t send you messages if you don’t feel like being bothered. We have come to a point in technology were we don’t want to talk face-to-face, or we don’t want to talk on the phone, “instant messaging,” is the new way to communicate, I think that could be a valid reason why people enjoy texting so much. I think in the past people got excited to talk on the phone because it was still new, and not everyone had one, but I think as time has gone on, people get happy to text and chat, because it’s still new, and everyone can do it!

Is talking on the phone gone for good??

Within the past year or so, I have found that people are not talking on the phone anymore, and I have wondered why. Well the reason that I have found the most is because of Facebook. People are now joining Facebook, and other social networks, because of a way to keep in touch with their family and friends. I find this interesting because I have friends who would rather talk to people they know rather than talking to them on the phone. I mean I can agree. One reason is because by talking to someone on Facebook, you can avoid the uncomfortable silences that occur while on the phone. Also sometime people can’t talk right away therefore, this method gives people the chance to reply or talk to you at their leisure. I honestly don’t think talking on the phone will get “back in style” because people will continue to invent things that will out do texting, and give people more reason not to pick up the phone. With the world changing and the new generation of people changing with it, the telephone will become irrelevant, and out of style to the point when the generation after us will think it was so ancient!
